Question 4:How did you use media technologies in the construction, research & planning and evaluation stages?

Evaluation Question 3 - Jonathan Wade

We also got video feedback on all three of our products:

Documentary feedback

Radio trailer feedback

TV listing feedback

To summarise what we learnt from our focus group feedback was that generally we produced a professional product, however we feel some of our negative views on mobile phones may have made the documentary more one sided then we would of liked. We also noticed a trend in that females found our media products more related to them, however our original aim was to appeal to both genders. This suggests that the views that we give may be more appropriate to females rather than males, if we were to go back and edit our products we would focus on making it appear relative to both genders rather then seeming slightly more related to females.

Question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Question 1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Codes and Conventions of double page spreads - Jack Thompson

When in production of our double page spread we will attempt to use all of the stated conventions to the best of our ability so it improves the quality and professionalism of our product.

Creating the radio trailer and the song used

These photos show us recording, firstly our music used in our productions, and then photos of us editing the radio trailer.

Update #5

We have just finished research into radio trailers and have analysed similar products to our own so that we can understand the codes and conventions of radio trailers and how to apply these relevantly to our target audience. We now have a rough idea of what script we want to record for the trailer and the clips of audio we want to include from the documentary. We will also have to learn to use a new software in the form of Garage Band where we will piece our radio trailer together. Once we have completed the recording, we will have to start looking ahead to our magazine listing.
