Location Recce - Jack Thompson & Phil Costin

-We will use a plain white wall as a background because it makes it easier for us to edit things  behind it and puts all focus on the interviewee as they will be holding or wearing objects that show  the link with them and college.
-We may use a brick wall as a background because it makes vox pops clearer and puts all focus on  the interviewee as they will be holding or wearing objects that show the link with them and college.  Although the mise en scen would be questionable.
-The communal college garden may provide good background footage as it is a popular area that  we could film students 'hanging out'.
-The theatre may be a good room to use as it could put emphasis on a point whilst front on stage,    or the reverse view and show students on their phones filling the seats.
-The cafe area we took photos of will be a great place to film background footage, vox-pops and  other interviews.
-The shots of the college sign and the college building may be useful when introducing the college in  the documentary and significant to the documentary.
-Finally the shot of the computer may be used for looking at phones on the internet as well as  backgrounds for interviews. The classroom as a whole is somewhere we can film background  footage.
These shots fit with conventions as there are a lot of typical establishing shots and plain or computer backgrounds common in use with vox-pops and expert interviews. We want to use these kinds of locations so that our documentary looks as professional.
